Good morning, Fayette County,
Do you have your Halloween costumes ready, or are you still looking through the closet, hoping inspiration strikes?
This weekend is shaping up to be a busy one around Fayette County. Between fall festivals, trunk-or-treats, and the Atlanta Air Show at Falcon Field, there are plenty of reasons to get the family out of the house. The hardest part might be deciding how much you can fit in before everyone needs a nap.
Even if your plans involve staying home, don’t be surprised if you find yourself looking up. With aircraft arriving and preparing for the air show, you may catch a little of the excitement from your own backyard. Comfortable chairs, no parking concerns, and your own snacks. That’s a pretty good viewing arrangement!

That grocery store pod? It was roasted long before it hit the shelf. Coffee starts losing flavor within weeks of roasting — which is why your morning cup tastes flat, no matter how nice your machine is.
Angelino's does it differently. A third-generation roaster in Los Angeles, they roast, grind, and seal every pod in-house for peak freshness, then ship it to your door within days of roasting. The difference is the first thing you'll notice: real aroma, real flavor, no bitterness.
Mix and match from 50+ specialty coffees, teas, and flavored blends — all Keurig®-compatible — and save more with every box you add, up to 34% off at 12+. Order once whenever you're running low, or subscribe for an extra 5% if that's easier. Entirely up to you.
New customers get 15% off their first order — applied automatically, no code needed.
A lifesaving emergency response put Fayetteville firefighter and paramedic Ryan Hyde on a different kind of assignment October 28: a flight with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
Hyde helped revive a six-year-old boy who suffered cardiac arrest in February. His actions earned him a nomination for the team’s Key Influencer program, which selects people whose work helps inspire young people in their communities.
His 35-minute ride over Peachtree City included vertical climbs and tight turns, reaching forces of 7.5 Gs. The team typically offers just one Key Influencer flight at each show stop.
Residents can watch the Blue Angels perform October 31 and November 1 at the Atlanta Air Show at Falcon Field.
More than $43,000 in community donations will help Fayette County residents get to medical appointments and pharmacies when driving is no longer an option.
Fayette Senior Services raised the money through Every Mile Matters after reductions in federal transportation funding left the program facing a nearly $90,000 shortfall. Peachtree City Rotary Club, QTS, other local businesses, and individual supporters contributed to the effort.
The program provides door-to-door transportation, with wheelchair-accessible vehicles available. Eligible riders include Fayette residents 60 and older, along with adults ages 18 to 59 who have disabilities and cannot drive. Fees depend on income and an initial assessment.
Medical transportation operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents can ask about eligibility and arranging rides by calling 770-461-0813.
Some Fayette homeowners need repairs before they can receive improvements that lower energy use. A $14 million commitment from QTS Data Centers aims to help more than 800 local households clear that hurdle.
The Fayette County Community Resilience Program brings together QTS, Georgia Power, Groundswell, and The Same House. Depending on a home assessment, assistance may address roofing or mold problems before adding insulation, sealing ducts, or installing other energy-saving improvements. Approved work comes at no cost to participating households.
Applicants must own a single-family home in Fayette County, be Georgia Power customers, and meet income or qualifying benefit requirements.
Pre-screening is open on a rolling basis, with enrollment planned through July 2027. Residents who need help with the process can call Groundswell at 855-844-9981.
