Good morning, Fayette County.
I'll be honest, when I was putting this Flyer together, I skipped straight to the Weather section first. My yard is looking rough. The Georgia clay is full of cracks, the grass is crunchy, and everything has that sad, sun-beaten look that screams "we need rain." I was really hoping to spot at least one rainy day on the forecast this weekend. Spoiler: not much luck there. But here's the silver lining. A dry weekend means perfect conditions to get out and enjoy one of the many live concerts and events happening around town. And trust me, there are plenty to choose from this week.

Most men dealing with gray hair have two options: live with it or dye it. Dye works, but it has a tell. The roots. The uniformity. The fact that it looks like something you did rather than something you have.
But now there is a third option: Particle Anti-Gray Serum. A daily spray that works at the root to gradually restore your natural color — hair and beard — without dye, without mess, without anyone knowing you're doing anything at all. Premium ingredients. Clinically researched. Thirty-day guarantee. Over 1,000,000 men use Particle because the results look like them.
The City of Fayetteville has kicked off a 15-month update to its comprehensive plan which is a foundational policy document that guides land use, transportation, and economic development. An April 9 town hall drew residents who raised concerns about housing affordability, the Highway 85 corridor, and revitalizing Fayette Pavilion under its new Houston-based ownership. A steering committee of community leaders will guide the process toward a June 2027 adoption. "These are the meetings that are most impactful," City Manager Ray Gibson told attendees. The next public session is Thursday, April 23, at 9 a.m. at Fayetteville City Hall.
Fayette County is beginning early planning work on possible future improvements along a three mile stretch of Inman Road from Highway 92 to County Line Road. Transportation officials told the Fayette County Transportation Committee on April 7 that the study will focus on safety, traffic flow, future growth, and how upcoming projects could affect the corridor. Inman Road currently has 14 unsignalized intersections, narrow 10 foot lanes, limited turn lanes, and several known trouble spots. Officials said crash history has made the South Jeff Davis Drive, Inman Road, County Line Road, and North Bridge Road intersection a top priority for upgrades. Possible improvements include new street lighting, shoulder upgrades, sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, a roundabout, and a multi use path. That path could eventually connect neighborhoods, including Paislee Park, to Inman Elementary School.
Walter Reeves, the Fayetteville native who became Georgia's most recognizable gardening voice, died April 10 at 74 following a battle with Parkinson's disease. For more than two decades, Reeves hosted the Lawn and Garden Show call-in program on WSB Radio every Saturday morning and penned a weekly column in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, earning the nickname "the Georgia Gardener." Colleagues remembered him as "the quintessential Southern gardener" who was warm, humorous, and always accessible. He authored multiple books and spoke at events across the state. Reeves grew up in Fayetteville and never stopped calling Fayette County home.
